The Adamawa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reiterated its commitment to partnering with Chinese firms to introduce recycling initiatives that will promote a cleaner and healthier environment across the state.
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Development, Mohammed Sadiq Kalu, stated this while unveiling the newly procured 2025 Sweeper Truck at the Unity Flyover in Jimeta.
It will be recalled that a few weeks ago, the State Executive Council approved the procurement of a 2025 model modern sweeper truck through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Development to enhance environmental sanitation and ensure safer surroundings in Adamawa State.
The sweeper truck has now arrived in Yola and has commenced operations.
The Commissioner, Mohammed Sadiq Kalu, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and other senior officials of the ministry, officially unveiled the truck, which will support the cleaning of major roads within the metropolis.
Addressing the workers at the Unity Flyover in Jimeta, Commissioner Kalu explained that the Fresh Air Administration remains focused on introducing innovations that will transform the state, hence the approval and purchase of the modern sweeper truck.
He added that government is working to strengthen collaborations with Chinese partners to establish recycling systems aimed at boosting environmental sustainability and overall development in Adamawa State calling on residents to continue supporting Governor Fintiri’s developmental initiatives.
The development has been welcomed by the ad-hoc sweeping staff, who say the machine will ease their daily tasks and commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his commitment to improving environmental sanitation. ADA
