Gombe State Governor present 2026 proposed budget.

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has presented a proposed budget of over five hundred and thirty-five billion naira for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
Presenting the budget, Governor Yahaya said one hundred and sixty-four billion naira is for recurrent expenditure, while three hundred and seventy-one billion naira is for capital projects.
He explained that the Works, Housing and Transportation sector got the highest allocation of one hundred and thirty-five billion naira followed by Water Resources and Environment with eighty-eight billion naira and Education Health and Agriculture, with thirty-one twenty-five, and twenty billion naira respectively.
The Governor said the budget would be financed through recurrent revenues of over four hundred and sixteen billion naira , and capital receipts of about two hundred and twenty-five billion naira, with a projected opening balance of one hundred billion naira from 2025.
Tagged the Budget of Consolidation, the Governor noted that the proposal is aligned with the Gombe State Development Agenda DEVAGOM, and aims to promote sustainability, equity, and inclusive growth.
Responding, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Muhammad Abubakar Luggerewo, assured that the lawmakers would give the budget speedy consideration.
He also commended the cordial relationship among the executive, legislature, and judiciary, which he said has enhanced the implementation of policies and programmes across the state.RN
